Use the government’s apprenticeship site to familiarise yourself with the process of choosing and applying for apprenticeships. Do not register at this stage.

Create a shortlist of ten apprenticeships that you would consider applying for and include a short profile on each. You may find it very difficult to find an apprenticeship in a field directly linked to your interest in the creative media sector. However, you may find an interesting alternative.

Sony / RME Records Personal Assistant Apprenticeship

The successful applicant will be working at Sony Music’s UK office in Kensington, Central London working as the Personal Assistant to the Managing Director of the label RME Records.
This apprenticeship requires a strong ability in office work including fast & efficient typing, ability to take meeting minutes and action planning and you must be skilled at using social media for commercial purposes. An in-depth knowledge of the music industry including the roles of different companies, job roles and types of agreements is required.
You must be able to work independently and use your own initiative as well as have a strong desire to succeed in the music industry.
As there is a high level of office work in this role you are expected to have strong academic results, particularly in English and Mathematics.

If you love computer games and enjoy using your imagination, this could be ideal for you. Computer games developers produce games for PCs and games consoles. They also produce games for the internet and mobile phones. The work could involve making new games or updating existing titles.
Most computer games developers have a qualification. However employers may be more interested in your software skills and experience.
To become a computer games developer, you will need to have creativity and imagination. You’ll also need to be able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
